Facts checked against official sources How we check facts

  1. Choose your ticket type

Decide whether you want to explore alone with the app (standard entry), follow a live guide (guided tour), or add views from one tower (tower ticket). If you’re unsure, our comparison guide walks through the choice.

  2. Book a timed slot in advance

Admission is timed, and on-site sales via QR code depend on remaining availability. Booking ahead secures your preferred time. Check the opening hours for your date, and note that special occasions can change them.

  3. Prepare ID, ticket and phone

Tickets are personal and named — bring official photo ID, plus proof of eligibility for any reduced rate. Download the official audio guide app if your ticket includes it, charge your phone, and pack headphones. The standard audio track is about 45 minutes.

  4. Dress for a working church

No swimwear or see-through clothing; trousers and skirts at least mid-thigh; shoulders covered in the Chapel of the Holy Sacrament. See the full dress code guide.

  5. Arrive early enough for security

Everyone goes through a mandatory security check. Arrive with enough margin to find your entrance and clear security before your time — late arrival can mean refused entry. Travel light: there are no general luggage lockers. Getting there is easiest by metro; see how to get there.

  6. Inside: pace yourself

The venue suggests about an hour for a visit, but you can take your time where permitted. If you have a morning slot, remember the quiet hour from 09:00 – 10:00: headphones required and noise kept to a minimum. Tower visitors should go to the tower at the time on their ticket.

Frequently asked questions

How far in advance should I book?

As early as your plans allow, especially for tower tickets, guided tours in a specific language, and weekends or holiday periods. Same-day availability is not guaranteed.

Can I bring a backpack?

Small bags go through security. There are no general luggage lockers, so don’t bring suitcases or large luggage.

Can I re-enter after leaving?

Do not plan on it. Treat your visit as a single entry and see everything you want before you leave.
